Places in San Antonio I Really Want To Go Back & Experience Again - Pt. 4

🔲Jacala Mexican Restaurant
Established in 1949, Jacala is the oldest, originally owned Mexican Restaurant here in San Antonio. Just by walking inside you can sense all its culture, beauty and the love the owners put in to this breathtaking place. Every Sunday, my Nana, my Aunt, my Mother, Sister and myself would dine at Jacala after church. I grew up ordering the rice and beans a la cart with a little spoon. This was also the place that I found that i loved salsa. Kind of a long story. I'm real picky when it comes certain condiments, but Jacalas texas renowned red Salsa is the best. Of course that's just my opinion. My Nanas and Mothers favorite platter is #11. I later, once I got a little older and my tastebuds matured, I also enjoyed the platter. Number eleven is the two enchiladas with beans and rice. They give you good portions too. Jacala is great on price and family friendly. They also have a bar and outdoor seating. This place (for me) brings back so many nostalgic thoughts. Can't wait to go back!😁🤩 Here's a website for more info: http://www.jacala.com/

🔲Hong Kong Harbor
Where to start with this buffet...if I had two more hands I would give it four thumbs up, that's how great this place is. Their food is always fresh, their meals are carefully prepared and their atmosphere is absolutely peaceful and family friendly. I for one LOVE their sushi and sauteed mushrooms. My mother adores their salmon and shrimp. They have so much to offer. The people there are so very nice and caring. Hong Kong Harbor (in my opinion) is the best Chinese buffet here in SA. Here's a link for their website: https://www.buffet2.com/

🔲Grand Fortuna Chinese Restaurant
My whole family have been going to this place since I was born. This is another restaurant that we would go to after church. My mother loved ordering their Moo Goo Gai Pan, I prefer the Lemon Chicken with fried rice. Oh, and their egg roles, OMG'S!! They are so good and so filling! 🤤They also have an indoor water fountain filled with koi fish. Very tranquil atmosphere, family friendly and budget friendly. The folks who run the restaurant are very nice too. Definitely brings back good memories for me. Once this whole pandemic is handled better, mom and I are going back. 🤩 Heres their website for more info: http://www.grandfortunachinese.com/

🔲De Wese's Tip Top Cafe
This place is yet another restaurant that my whole family would eat at when I was growing up. The Tip Top Cafe has been serving all walks of life since 1938. Although this place is small it still packs a punch on your tastebuds. Their chicken fried steak is nothing you have ever tasted in your life! Dont get me started on their other entries and sides either. Their prices are good, environment can be a little over crowded but the energies of this place...all I can say if walls could talk, they would have stories beyond folks belief. I for one have great memories of this beautiful restaurant. You got to experience it to believe it. If your new to San Antonio or just passing through, stop by the Tip Top Cafe, it will definitely be worth it! Heres their website for more info: https://www.dewesestiptop.com/
